There is no such thing as wasted time. There is only time that’s deployed consciously or unconsciously. Should you choose to deploy your time consciously, you’re more likely to be able to guide the trajectory of your vessel. But, like fog on a river obstructing the view of what’s ahead, the future is obstructed by the infinite external variables of chance—let alone internal variables of choice. Even so, better to look as far as you can into the fog and attempt to guide the trajectory of your vessel than close your eyes and drift entirely at the mercy of exterior forces.
